Tammy Evinger Obituary, Death Cause – Tammy Sue Evinger, 60 passed away peacefully on April 4, 2023 after a difficult battle with frontotemporal dementia (FTD). Born on July 3, 1962 in Terre Haute, IN, she was the daughter of Harold and Charity Evinger. Tammy graduated from West Vigo High School in 1980. She earned a bachelors degree in Accounting from Indiana State University in 1984. Tammy worked over 21 years as trust officer for First Financial Bank in Terre Haute.
She is survived by her mother, Charity (Strole) Evinger, Terre Haute; brothers Rick (Gale) Evinger of Fort Wayne, IN, Terry (Flo) Evinger of Sanford, IN; niece Rhonda Bauermeister and nephew Justin Evinger. Tammy had a very large extended family with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Family was very important to her and she loved attending the family get togethers. Tammy is preceded in death by her father Harold C. Evinger and a very special aunt, Hazel (Evinger) Holdaway.
During tax season she also worked as a tax preparer. Prior to re-settling back in Terre Haute, Tammy was an Army wife where she lived in Virginia Beach, Virginia and Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Tammy enjoyed taking pictures and scrap booking photo albums. She loved researching family genealogy. Tammy was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church and volunteered helping with the church treasury.
Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Kathy Roush officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday from 12 Noon – 1:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 60076 Hwy. 150, West Terre Haute, or Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care, 400 8th Ave., Terre Haute, or a charity of your choice.
