Rosia Mitchell Obituary, Death Cause – Rosia Mitchell, who was 39 years old, was identified as the victim of this morning’s tragic hit-and-run tragedy that took place early in the day. Her family identified her as the victim. On the morning of Friday, April 14th, 2023, at 5 a.m., the Illinois State Police responded to calls of a single automobile collision and a person who had been knocked unconscious on the i-94 Dan Ryan/Stevenson Motorway right before 31st st. in Chicago.
After tumbling out of the vehicle, she was hit by two vehicles: the first vehicle came to a stop after hitting her, and the second vehicle, which was an 18-wheeler, continued driving after hitting her. He was taken into custody at a later point in time. ISP claims that she did not end up being ejected from the vehicle during the incident.
Investigators from the ISP and the IDOT were present at the scene for a number of hours.
The accident occurred on a stretch of the highway that is named after Dan Ryan and Stevenson. When those people arrived, Rosia was passed out and laying on the ground in the middle of the road. They found her in that position. It was discovered that she had died at the location where she was found. The information that was provided by the ISP indicates that Rosia was driving a doorless black Jeep Wrangler when she lost control of the vehicle and crashed down the embankment.
During that time, they were able to shut down portions of the Dan Ryan Motorway that were causing substantial delays in traffic. Rosia Mitchell was a lovely and loving person who presently works as an assistant teacher at Brookwood Junior High School in Glenwood, Illinois. Rosia Mitchell grew up in Glenwood, Illinois. Her loved ones, the people she worked with, and the students she taught will all mourn her death and think kindly of her.
