Raymond Shulman Obituary, Death Cause – The death of Raymond Shulman has occurred. Portsmouth is where Shulman began his life. The trumpet, which his father played in a jazz band, was the first instrument that he ever learnt to play because of his father. After that, he became proficient on the violin and the guitar and was about to be accepted into the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.
However, his brother Derek talked him into joining their band, Simon Dupree and the Big Sound, which would later become Gentle Giant. Since the band’s inception in 1970 all the way to its final tour in 1980, Shulman was a member of Gentle Giant.
