Philip Phelps Obituary, 85 Years Old Philip Phelps Has Sadly Passed Away

Philip Phelps Obituary, Death Cause – On Monday, April 10, 2023, Philip E. Phelps, who had lived in Princeton his entire life and had reached the age of 85, passed away in the Princeton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Both of his parents passed away before he was born; his father, Marion Edward Phelps, and his mother, Henrietta Josephine Prowell Phelps both departed away before he came into the world.

In the county of Caldwell, he was born on the 13th of December in 1937. In addition to being the owner of Druther’s Restaurants in Princeton and Marion, he was also an exceptionally loyal and devout member of the Fredonia First Baptist Church for the majority of his life. Some of Philip’s favorite things to do included going fishing and hunting, as well as spending quality time with his children and grandchildren.

In addition to this, he was well-known as a “Super Fan” of the Tigers and was a staunch supporter of all local athletes, most notably the Tiger football team, whose games he attended without missing for a total of 423 times over the period of 37 years. In total, he was a part of the Tigers’ fanbase for 423 years.

The year 2010 marked Philip’s induction into the Caldwell County Football Hall of Fame, which served as a public acknowledgement of his achievements in the sport of football. His family includes his wife of forty years, Pam Bullock Phelps; his three sons, Jeffery “Todd” Phelps of Fredonia, Curtis E. “Curt” Phelps and Brad Harralson of Princeton; his sister, Wanda Beck of Kuttawa; and his grandchildren.

David Phelps, Michael Phelps, Leigha (Kevin) McMullen, Mandy (Curt) Phelps Martin, and Adrian Phelpne Funeral services will be place on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 12:00 PM at the Fredonia First Baptist Church. The burial service will be presided over by Reverend Presley Lamm, and Brother Kyle Noffsinger will serve as an assistant. Following the funeral, the body of the deceased will be laid to rest at Hill Cemetery in Caldwell County.

Visitation will be held at Morgan’s Funeral Home on the evening of April 12, 2023, beginning at 4:00 p.m. and continuing until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will take place at Fredonia First Baptist Church on Thursday, April 13, 2023, beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continuing up to the time of the service, which will begin at 1:00 p.m.
