Patricia Woodard Obituary, Death Cause – We are very sorry to inform you that Patricia Woodard, a long-time member of the Hymn Society, passed away on April 6, 2023 at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York City. Her passing has left us with a deep sense of loss. Our deepest sympathies go out to Patricia’s family and friends during this difficult time.
Patricia has shown her commitment to The Hymn Society in a variety of different ways over the course of her work with the organization over the course of herinvolvement with The Hymn Society. Her time spent serving as secretary for the Executive Committee, which spanned a total of four years, was one of these responsibilities. She was in charge of producing the Hymnic Anniversaries section for
“The Hymn” from 2014 to 2018, during which time she was also a contributor to the publication, in addition to the fact that she gave it articles, reviews, and other contributions. She had a beautiful singing voice, was devoted to the study of hymns, and was always a lively presence at Hymn Society conferences. She was involved with the Hymn Society in some capacity. Everyone will experience loss in their own special way in response to her demise.
A memorial service in Patricia’s honor will be conducted on the Saturday, April 15, at 11:00 am, at Grace Church Brooklyn Heights, which is located at 254 Hicks Street in Brooklyn, New York 11201.
