Maddie Schmidt Obituary, Death Cause – The cancellation of sports and extracurricular activities at Eaglecrest High School Following the passing of a teacher on Tuesday night, classes are going to be postponed until Thursday because an abundance of caution has been exercised. Teacher Maddie Schmidt exhibited symptoms that were compatible with bacterial meningitis, according to the Arapahoe County Public Health Department.

Meningitis caused by bacteria is a potentially contagious and dangerous disease that may require hospitalization but is treatable with antibiotics.
