Lafayette Dorsey Obituary, Death Cause – I am at a loss for words at this time after learning of the passing of Pastor Lafayette R. Dorsey Sr., who was both my big brother in Christ and my cousin-in-law. My friend brought up the subject of me and the church going back to our beginnings in the Church of God in Christ just as we were getting close to finishing what we were saying. Man guy man. I will never forget how kind you were to me when I got married to Janine; man, I am going to miss you so much; may you rest in peace, Cuzzo.
I will never forget how generous you were to me when I got married to Janine. When I married Janine, you were such a kind friend to me, and I will never forget that. My wife’s parents, Chelesa Dorsey, are in my prayers right now, and my thoughts are with them as well. Dorsey attended Pacific University for a total of four years and also competed in intercollegiate athletics there for a total of four years when he was a student there. During the 2018-2019 campaign, he finished games with a scoring average of 10.7 points.
While he was a student at Dorsey High School in California, he was recognized for his athletic ability by being selected to play for the All-City guard team, as stated by a piece that appeared in the Los Angeles Times. The previous year, he made the move to Nicholls State University and sat out the season as a redshirt so that he could obtain more experience playing the game. The Nicholls men’s basketball team posted a message and a photo of Dorsey on the official page of their team’s Twitter account on Thursday evening.
Following the news of the demise of Lafayette Dorsey Jr., a former student-athlete for the Nicholls men’s basketball team, the statement continued, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the Dorsey family at this time in light of his passing.” At his time at Nicholls, Lafayette Dorsey Jr. competed on the school’s men’s basketball team. As a result of the passing of our cherished and longtime coworker and dear friend, we are in a state of profound sadness.
