John Fellowes Obituary, Death Cause – It is with the utmost regret that we offer the news that hospice patron, former colleague, and friend, John Fellowes, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 28th, surrounded by his loved ones at the very hospice that he helped to build. His passing occurred in the hospice that he helped to establish. “We have lost a wonderful man, a treasured colleague, and a dear friend,” stated Karen Houlston, who is the CEO of our company.
He was a driving force behind the scenes, bringing a sense of humor to the fundraising process. He initiated numerous different types of fund-raising activities, such as the Midnight Wander and the yearly automobile raffle, both of which continue to bring in significant sums of money to this day. In 2017, John took his retirement from Willow Wood, but during his career there, he had considered his work to be more than just a job; it had been a mission.
He had an endearing personality, a wonderful sense of humor, and was tireless in his efforts to raise money for Willow Wood. He will be remembered for all of these qualities. John was truly “the face of the hospice” and was dedicated to fundraising in order to ensure that our services could continue. John worked tirelessly to raise money for the hospice over the course of more than two decades of his life.
People will remember him for his affable demeanor, his hilarious sense of humor, and the tireless efforts he put into raising money. We are keeping his loved ones and family in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. On John’s Tribute page, you are able to make monetary contributions in lieu of sending flowers to help the ongoing operations of the hospice.
