Jane Norton Obituary, Death Cause – The Lorain Historical Society would like to take this moment to commemorate Jane Norton, who was a Friend, Benefactor, and Trustee of the organization. We are grateful for all that Jane has done for the Lorain Historical Society. Our thoughts are with her husband Ben G., her sons Ben P., Brad, and Brent, and their families during this difficult time.
We ask that you take our love and sympathy in this difficult time. In addition, we would like to extend our condolences to The Stocker Family, and in especially to her sisters Nancy and Mary Ann, who we know have been deeply affected by her passing. There are very few groups in Lorain and Lorain County that have not benefited from Jane’s years of hard work, dedication, and generosity.
These organizations may be found throughout Lorain and Lorain County. These kinds of organizations are quite uncommon. It is hard to calculate the number of people whose lives she has better, both on a personal level and via the efforts of The Stocker Foundation. This includes both the lives of people she has directly helped and the lives of people whose lives she has helped improve. It is an understatement to say that she will be missed, but she certainly will be.
But there is one thing that is certain: Jane’s life and memory will go on for as long as we remember her in the echo of her words around conference tables, drive past her house, take part in a charity event, or view the magnificence of a luxuriant garden loaded with flowers in the spring and summer. We want you to know that you are responsible for bringing beauty into the lives of so many people, even as we work hard to live our lives to the fullest in your absence.
Jane, may you rest in peace and know that you are responsible for bringing beauty into the lives of so many people.
