Antonio worked for the Raytheon Corporation in Norwood and Quincy for a very long time and was a very loyal employee. He retired at the age of 59. He participated in the Our Lady of Fatima Feast at Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton for a number of years and was a member of Club Luis de Camoes, both of which are located in the city of Stoughton.
After a period of time during which his health deteriorated, Antonio D. Martins, age 87, passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021, at the residence of his daughter in Mashpee. He was receiving care from Beacon Hospice at the time of his passing. Born in Fajanzinha on the island of Flores in the Azores of Portugal, where he also spent his childhood and received his education, he was the spouse of Maria J. (Vieira) Martins for the better part of 65 years.
In 1966, he moved to the United States with his wife and young family, settling down in Stoughton, Wisconsin, where he remained a resident for a good number of years. He was a devoted and competent gardener, and when he was in Florida, he assisted friends and family members in the planting and cultivation of their citrus trees and vegetable gardens. He had a lot of fun socialising with his friends at beach parties held at Englewood Beach in Port Charlotte, and he cherished the time he got to spend with his family.
