Elizabeth Kowlesk Obituary, Death Cause – In the Institute of the Holy Names, it is with deep regret that we must inform you of the passing of Sister St. Elizabeth Kowleski, who served in employment here. We are grieved by the news of her demise, which has left us with a heavy heart. Now that she has passed away, we believe it is our duty to inform you about her passing because we feel it is our responsibility to do so. This morning at Camilla Hall, Sister left in a manner that was composed and unruffled by any commotion.
On August 15, 1948, Sister came to the realization that she wanted to spend the rest of her life serving both God and other people in some capacity. This decision led to her decision to become a sister. She had the intention of throwing a party to commemorate the momentous occasion of the 75th anniversary of the day on which she made her decision, which will occur on May 7, 2023, which is exactly seven decades from today. The date marks the momentous occasion of the day on which she took her decision.
At our prestigious institution, Sister St. Elizabeth was in charge of the musical affairs for a total of thirty-three years, beginning in 1987 and continuing until 2011, which brings the total number of years she served in this post to a grand total of thirty-three. During that entire span of time, she was very dedicated to meeting all of the obligations that were placed on her shoulders. In addition to this, she was the brains behind the Archdiocesan Music Program and was in charge of promoting it to the local community when it first began.
As soon as any new information regarding the funeral arrangements for Sister is ready to be disseminated, that information will be communicated with everyone else, including the funeral arrangements themselves. We pray that God will grant her eternal rest and that the peace that comes from simply being in God’s presence will always be able to shine upon her. We also pray that she will always be able to shed the light of God’s presence upon us. Our God, we implore you to grant her eternal rest and that this tranquility may always be able to shine upon her. Please hear our prayer and grant her these gifts.
