Delores Lewis Obituary, Death Cause – On April 8, 2023, Delores (Ann) Stayer Lewis entered into the eternal peace that she had been seeking. Her journey on earth came to an end with her husband of 66 years by her side after she had bravely endured a great deal of pain over the course of many, many years. She has the resilience of a nail but the delicacy of a rose. Pauline Stayer Larimer, Delores’ mother, passed away before her daughter’s passing.
Her husband, Pascal Lewis, their son, Pascal Lynn Lewis, and their daughters, Angelia Lewis and Christia Lewis, are the only ones left to treasure her memory. She was an incredible example of what it is to be a caring, loyal, and beautiful wife and mother. She prepared a hearty breakfast every morning, a delicious dinner every evening, and lunch on the weekends. She had a vegetable garden almost every year of her marriage up until the most recent year.
When her deteriorating health prevented her from doing so. Delores was a woman of tremendous faith who served as an example for all those who were fortunate enough to know her. She was a very active member of Limestone Free Will Baptist Church, where she sang soprano in the choir and was frequently given the opportunity to perform solos that highlighted her lovely voice.
After working in the cafeteria at Jonesborough Elementary School for many years, she eventually decided to retire and devote her time to volunteering at the Jonesborough Senior Center, where she now participates in the Senior Center choir and donates countless hours to the Meals-On-Wheels program. She enjoyed performing for a variety of audiences, including those who lived at the Lakebridge Community Skilled Nursing Center.
Delores made it a point to visit and call those in her community who were unable to leave their homes. She contributed a lot of money to various charitable organizations. She and her husband enjoyed going on vacation together whenever they could. Over the years, they went on a number of bus tours and, on a regular basis, purchased season passes to Dollywood, where she attended the Gospel concerts and found a great deal of enjoyment.
