Even though I’ve probably written millions of words over the course of my life, I can say with absolute certainty that this is the most difficult thing I’ve ever had to write.
Which is something that should go without saying if you’ve ever met my mother. She was a wonderful mother to all six of her children, as well as to her grandchildren, all of her great-grandchildren’s friends, everyone she worked with, and pretty much everybody else she ever came into contact with. During the nearly half a century that they were married, she was Barney’s best friend and his constant accomplice in mischief.
She was a wonderful friend and sister to each and every one of you who is reading this, as well as to everyone else she came into contact with. Even though she had successfully defeated cancer all those years ago, she was called to heaven much too soon and much too unexpectedly. However, we are relieved that she passed away gently and has been reunited with her loved ones on the other side. There is not a single thing that could have made my mother any better. We are all beyond devastated by the news that she has passed away, and none of us will ever be the same again.
