Craig Bates Obituary, Death Cause – As of the time of his passing on Saturday, March 4, 2023, Craig Bates, who had been a resident of Astoria Place in Cambridge, Massachusetts up until the time of his death, had disappeared. Both of his parents, William H. Bates and Opal C. (Davis) Bates, had already passed away by the time that he was born on July 4, 1949 in Noble County. His mother’s maiden name was Davis.

Opal C. was the name of the man’s mother (Davis). His mother and father, William H. Bates and Opal C. (Davis) Bates, respectively, are the ones who gave birth to him.
After receiving his diploma from Shenandoah High School in 1967, Alfred started his professional life working as a truck driver. He continued in that position until 2011, when he made the decision to retire earlier than planned.

He was a well-known member of the Teamsters Local 348 union and participated actively in the operations of the organization. He was a passionate outdoorsman and enthusiast, and two of his favorite things to do in the great outdoors were fishing and hunting. He enjoyed being outside in nature. When the Guernsey County Sportsmen’s Club for Conservation initially started accepting new members after opening its doors to the general public, he was one of the very first people to sign up for a membership.

He is survived by his wife of over fifty-one years, Lucille “Lynn” (Campbell) Bates; two sons, Craig Bates and Matthew Bates, who are both married to other women; two daughters, Kellie Marie (Michael) Price and Carrie Joline (Rob) Young; and a stepson, William Norman, who is married to another woman. He is also survived by a stepson, William Norman, who is married to another woman.
