Charlie Reid Obituary, Death Cause – On April 13, 2023, Charles Emerson “Charlie” Reid, who had lived in Madison all his life and was 57 years old when he died, passed away. He was born on June 15th, 1964 in Golden Valley, Minnesota to parents Norman Reid and Elizabeth (Croal) Reid. He is the son of Norman Reid and Elizabeth (Croal) Reid. His father’s name is Norman, and his mother’s name is Elizabeth.

He participated in football for the University of Wisconsin at Madison (UW Madison), the United, and the 56ers. Charlie was a larger-than-life figure who committed his entire life to working for the betterment of society and the environment. He worked tirelessly to make a difference. He was skilled in photography, had a passion for music, enjoyed spending time outside (camping and fishing), had an eye for art, and was an enthusiastic outdoorsman. Charlie placed an emphasis on his family over all else when it came to the upbringing of his two sons.

After completing his high school education at Cooper High School in Cooper, Minnesota, Charlie attended the University of Wisconsin – Madison to earn his bachelor’s degree. He double majored in history and psychology. In a wedding ceremony that took place on September 20th, 1997, he wed Karen Kallick. He was a member of Essen Haus Stein Club Charlie was the kind of guy who was always up for a game.

Those who are left behind after Charlie’s passing include his wife, Karen, as well as their sons Emerson P. Reid, LCpl. Brooks N. Reid, Cody L. Smith, and Curran D. (Kris Martin) Smith; four brothers, Michael (Kate) Reid, Jeff Reid, Tom Reid, and Rob (Jill) Reid; and two sisters, Nancy Reid and Wendy (Lily) Reid. In addition, Charlie leaves behind four nephews and two nieces. His parents died before he did in this incarnation, so he never got to meet them.
