Celia Strange Obituary, Chilterns Dog Rescue Society Honorary President Has Died

Celia Strange Obituary, Death Cause – We are sharing the news that our Honorary President Celia Strange died away on Wednesday, March 29th, in the comfort of her own home, and it is with a heavy heart that we do so.
Celia, also known as Dizzy, was the sole surviving founder of the Chilterns Dog Rescue Society, which was once known as the Amersham, Chesham and District Dog Rescue and Welfare Society.

The Chilterns Dog Rescue Society was formerly called the Amersham, Chesham and District Dog Rescue and Welfare Society. Following the adoption of Lucy, her first dog from a rescue organization, Celia went on to save, foster, and eventually adopt a large number of unwanted and abandoned dogs of varying ages, breeds, and histories. It was her firmly held principles and belief that every dog deserves a chance that established the backbone of CDRS as we know it today, and it was this belief that has enabled the charity to go from strength to strength over the course of the six decades that Celia was involved.

Celia loved animals in general, not just dogs, and her home and garden were usually full of rescued cats, chickens, ducks, goats, ponies, and any other creature in need that was fortunate enough to find its way to her. Of course, Celia’s favorite animals were dogs, but she also had a soft spot for creatures of all other species.

Celia has been involved in every facet of the charity during the course of its existence. She continued to volunteer her assistance in the office at the Rescue Centre on a weekly basis right up until the month of January this year. Her family, friends, the staff and trustees of CDRS, and the many, many individuals she loved to converse with about animals and life in general will miss her terribly. Her passing will be deeply felt by all of these groups.

On Friday, April 28, at 3 o’clock in the afternoon, there will be a burial service held in Greenacres Woodland Burial Park, which is located at Potkiln Lane, Jordans, Near Beaconsfield, HP9 2XB. The event will begin with a celebration of Celia’s life.
