She started participating in rodeos and equestrian-themed exhibitions, among other similar activities. She was a member of the 4-H club and actively participated in the annual showcasing of horses and dairy goats. Another participant joined in on the fun. She played on the girls’ basketball team at Riverton Parke and on the baseball team at North Terre Haute Little League during the period she was engaged with both organizations.

She attended Rosedale Elementary, Riverton Parke High, and Ivy Tech Community College in Terre Haute, where she studied painting and photography for her Bachelor of Arts degree. She attended Rosedale Elementary School and finished her formal education at Riverton Parke High School. She currently makes a living as an artist, specifically in the visual arts painting and photography. She was in the process of completing the final requirement for her scuba certification in Galveston.
