Chanell Reed Obituary, Death Cause – We are writing to inform you of the passing of Chanell Sankey Reed, who served as one of our most cherished champions, leaders, and Executive Director. She passed away recently. It is with great regret that we must inform you of this latest development. Reed was a compassionate person.
The contributions that Reed made to a wide variety of organizations, including the City of Aurora, Tri-County Health, and Healthy Beginnings, are ones that we will never forget. She instilled an exemplary model of leadership in those around her and made certain that it would be carried on, ensuring that her legacy will endure.
But she also had a strong will, and she always put the responsibility for the organization’s future on her own shoulders. She was an influential advocate for the local community, a connection, and a wonderful friend to a large number of individuals. Her background in community development, policy, and political management made it abundantly clear that one of her primary goals in life is to alter the path that both the City of Aurora and the City of Denver are currently headed in.
As well as to bring awareness to the disparities that exist within the communities that she has served in the past. Reed, in his capacity as Executive Director of the Families Forward Resource Center, has been an essential contributor during the past few years to the expansion of the center’s sphere of impact. She was able to organize support for a huge number of families and individuals who were on their way to becoming parents, making certain that everyone got off to a good start and was treated equally throughout the process.
